About This Novel
This book is one of the six volumes of "Designer Joint Book Series·K Classic". "The Judgment" (Das Urteil) is a novel written by Kafka from the evening of September 22 to the early morning of September 23, 1912. It is regarded as an early representative of the formation of Kafka's writing style. It tells the story of a judgment between a father and his son that can push people into the abyss. This book also includes "Der Heizer: Ein Fragment" (Der Heizer: Ein Fragment), which is the first chapter of Kafka's unfinished novel "The Missing" (later renamed "America"). It was written in early 1912 and published by Kurt Wolff Verlag in Germany the following year. The novel tells the story of 16-year-old Carl who went to the United States alone to fight against the unfair treatment of the stoker on the ship.
