About This Novel
Gillan Vignole is the servant of the steel monster "Smasher 500" book smashing machine. He lives a boring and lonely life from the book pulping factory to his home every day. At 6:27 in the morning, Gillan boarded the express train to the factory on time. He always chose an orange-red folding seat next to the door and sat down. Then he carefully took out a folder from his leather bag, and from the folder he took out a book page sandwiched between blotting papers. This page was secretly saved from the monster's teeth the previous day. Gillan placed the end of the book on the backboard, cleared his throat and began to read aloud. Whether they are office workers who live a boring life every day on the express train or the elderly in nursing homes, they are all eager to briefly enter a different life from the reading of one or two fragmentary pages.
