About This Novel

When I first arrived in Hong Kong, I lived in a tenement building because I didn't apply for a student apartment. In an old community like the West District, buildings are snobbishly divided into tenement buildings and western-style buildings. The difference is that the former does not have an elevator. I live on the top seventh floor. In other words, upstairs is the roof, which houses a wet laundry and the landlord's flora and fauna. The scenery in the Zoological and Botanical Garden is unique, except for the two vicious dogs guarding the gate. The landlord is a Chaozhou native. He planted monstera trees elegantly and even built a pond to raise two koi carps. Naturally, he mercifully fed the mosquitoes that lurk during the day and emerge at night. With such an ecology, it is not surprising that thousands of sounds are singing in unison at night. The dogs were bored, biting each other and grinding their teeth as a pastime. The buzzing of mosquitoes can be ignored as you get used to it over time. The landlord was so shrewd that he divided a three-bedroom apartment into separate apartments.
