About This Novel
This book is the third part of "Returning from the South to the North". It describes the intellectuals who were exiled in the southwest. After returning to their long-lost homeland, they had to bear the pain of parting due to the outbreak of the civil war and their respective political differences. They looked at each other from afar, and the dramatic changes in their fates they encountered in the different living environments and political atmospheres on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In addition to describing Zhu Jiahua, Hu Shi, Mei Yiqi, Fu Sinian, Li Ji, Dong Zuobin, Shi Zhangru, Jiang Menglin, Ye Gongchao and other masters who moved to Taiwan, it also focuses on Liang Sicheng and Liang Sicheng who stayed in the mainland. Yong, Lin Huiyin, Chen Yinke, Wu Jinding, Zeng Zhaoluan, Zeng Zhaoxuan, Chen Mengjia, Mu Dan, Xiang Da, Ye Qisun, Rao Yutai, Wu Mi, Qian Zhongshu and other intellectual groups have different political pursuits and love and hatred. While readers can perceive the historical truth and lament, they also have the impulse to "seek historical knowledge from history" and learn some "historical lessons" from it.
