About This Novel
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the case of the massacre of the Suoyun Mountain Nishang Troupe became a mystery, and the mountain temple became a forbidden area. In order to find the truth, young reporter Lu Mingxuan and the temple keeper Old Uncle Zhong fight against the powerful Zhao Lao Lao. Thirty years ago, his father Zhao Huai set fire to massacre the famous actress Jade Furong. Today, the Zhao family still uses rumors and violence to obstruct the investigation. Lu Mingxuan holds a gold hairpin and a secret record, but is forced into a desperate situation by collusion between officials and businessmen. So they set up a bureau on the occasion of the death, using the appearance of the ghost in neon clothes as a guide, and jointly witnessed the incident with the provincial police, media and country gentry. When the dark wind suddenly rises at night, "Blood and Tears" reappears on the will-o'-the-wisp stage: Jade Furong's bloody clothes complain about threats, the class leader Gai Yuntianxiao's clothes are weeping blood, and the illusion points directly to the truth of arson. Lu Mingxuan rushed out with his certificate, and reporters in the dark recorded the whole process. As the squire angrily denounced his evil deeds, a police siren rang through the air. The minions of the Zhao family wanted to kill him, but were frightened by the ghost's vision. When daylight breaks, Zhao Laohu lays down and reincarnates with a smile on his face. The mountain temple has since become a spiritual totem, and erhu music and incense have reshaped collective memory. The play within the play "Blood and Tears" turns into a mirror that reflects the evil of the powerful, and also demonstrates the power of oral history among the people. In the end, lies are no longer spread in Suoyun Mountain, only a legend is left in the wind of Liming Mountain: reporters use pens as blades to pierce the shady scene, old Uncle Zhong uses his piano strings to engrave time, and villagers use incense to recast justice. When the moonlight spreads over the mottled stage, the truth soaked in blood and tears finally takes root in people's hearts.
