Major historical events such as the Youth League Movement, the Wanqing New Deal, the Revolution of 1911, the Yuan Dynasty, the Beiyang Civil War, and the May Fourth Movement are all divided into special topics, which are thorough and vivid. This book integrates the basic views of the author's best-selling books "Xinhai: Shaking China" and "Beiyang Fission: Warlords and the May Fourth Movement". It is more systematic than the two books alone. It has very good academic and historical value.

The author describes the spirit of resistance and educating the next generation to remember suffering as a shrew mentality, which is really not flattering!
