About This Novel
This book tells the story of Ding You, a single male protagonist in his 50s who was just "retired" from his work unit. He posted a "rental girlfriend notice" online because of his inner loneliness. This book uses the artistic technique of two-line cross-narrative. The first is Ding Yougang's online communication with many netizens (Banshee, Zhang Zhanghua, good women, Xiao Xiao working girl, etc.) After he posted the information about "renting friends" on the Internet, and the inner fluctuations caused by it. The second is the narration of Ding Yougang's personal life experience before posting the information about "renting friends". The two clues converge near the end of the story, and the novel ends with Ding Yougang meeting in reality with the target of his renting friends, the netizen "Banshee".
