About This Novel
My brother's family of three were hit and killed by a wealthy second-generation dragster on a busy street. Three days later, the police told me that the hit-and-run driver had committed suicide out of fear of guilt. He was a migrant worker in his early twenties. The suicide note he left behind said that he had caused a catastrophe because he stole a luxury car and drove it on a whim. I believe him. After finding the home of the "substitute", I want to ask his family to tell the truth. In a dilapidated small courtyard, there were only an old lady who was paralyzed in bed, and a little girl of fifteen or sixteen years old. The girl was born deaf and gestured vaguely to me - "My brother said that with these 300,000 yuan, he can buy me an imported cochlear implant."
