About This Novel
The novel tells the story of three people who grew up in an alleyway and met forty years later. After several happy reunions, they found that each other had changed. Looking for the cause of the change, they had to trace their roots back to the business world they spent time in when they were young. Forty years ago, the fifteen-year-old boy Liu Gen and his two friends of the same age, Jiang Bo and Xu Jinsheng, became brothers with different surnames. Like all children of that ignorant age, they stumbled, fell and grew up. Everyone has experienced youthful loyalty and immature love, but in the author's writing, they appear particularly vivid and touching.
