"Animals" is a wonderful collection of micro-novels by Areola. In the book, Areola describes twenty-three animals in prose and poetic language. Areola is writing about animals on the surface, but what is reflected in the article is his views on people. Each story is very short, but Areola is always able to express rich and profound meanings in just a few strokes. Areola's metaphors are direct, straightforward, without any hesitation, and sometimes even defining. The extremely dense metaphors are intertwined into the solid outlines of animals, as sure as the illustrations made by silver needle pens. Therefore, we can feel the more profound and decisive correspondence between the ontology and the metaphor.
