Chongqing Lost City: Strange Things in the Fog
by Earl E
About This Novel
There are only two cities in China, other cities and Chongqing. There is a city in the mountains, and there are mountains in the city. In Chongqing, there is only up, down, left, and right, not east, west, north, or south. Our story originates from this city and can only happen in this city. During the late Qing Dynasty, Ren Xidong, who grew up in Nanyang and majored in chemistry, traveled across the ocean to Chongqing in order to find his father's roots. Unexpectedly, he discovered that some patients who were regarded by the locals as possessed by ghosts and gods - crazy bites, yellow eyes, and even "resurrected from the dead" - were actually infected with unknown viruses. In desperation, Ren Xidong had to team up with Western doctors, dock robe brothers, government teachers, and people from the chamber of commerce to try to find out the source of the virus. Under the threat of the virus, Ren Xidong led his partners to escape in Chongqing's intricate terrain. Unexpectedly, all parties who are supposed to cooperate have their own agendas. In the chaotic situation, everyone's hope of survival is at stake...
