I Refuse to Be a Genius Parrot
About This Novel
Adam Gordon, a high school student from Topeka, Kansas, USA, a master debater, poet, and migraine sufferer, is about to take the stage to participate in the National Speech and Debate Championship. His parents, Jonathan and Jane, both psychiatrists, sat nervously waiting to watch. Jonathan understood the folly of psychiatrists: they thought that because they could analyze their emotions, they could transcend and overcome them. But in fact, they are more often feeding this emotion. Their lives are also one long psychological analysis. But it did not bring healing, but instead caused emotional imbalance. Until the pressure broke out and the smooth surface broke, everything gradually returned to normal... It was 1997, like a party that was hot, noisy, and somehow not very good. Like migraines, phosphenes, and eternity.
