About This Novel

As a famous poet active in the Chinese contemporary poetry circle, Xiang Yixian is known for his distinctive and unique style. His "My Confucius" published by the People's Literature Publishing House in 2016 caused quite a stir in the poetry world. "Quartet of Life" is the poet's latest long poem work. The whole book is composed of four parts: "Goldfish and Crow", "Rhinoceros and Child", "Spring Grass" and "Avalokitesvara in the Mountain", which together form a complete overall structure of a long poem. "Quartet of Life" is a strange long poem. Its structure integrates narrative, imagination and lyricism. The whole poem is based on a macroscopic grasp of the process of human survival and development. The book has a preface by the famous poetry critic Geng Zhanchun and a postscript by Ye Lu.
