It's not bloody but you can feel the war everywhere
Unlike tense war novels, there are no large-scale war descriptions here, but many small fragments can make you feel the helplessness and separation of life and death in war. This is a romance novel. The love between the male and female protagonists is both smooth and tortuous during the war. What goes smoothly is the development of the relationship, without any bloody jealousies, misunderstandings or quarrels. The twists and turns are the inevitable injuries and separations due to war. In such an environment, no one talks about the heroine being older and older every day, and time passes without realizing it. Everyone is running for life, and a letter a month will not keep our hearts away. Big love and small love make people feel sincere and touching.

I originally thought it was a cliché drama about talented people and beautiful women, but I didn't expect it to be a very attractive story. Twelve years of life and death together
This is the dullest yet most touching book I have ever read. Every word and every sentence can make my heart strings fluctuate and resonate with my soul. It clearly talks about the war, but not a single word about the war scenes. It clearly talks about twelve years of love, but it doesn't look as utopian and vigorous as modern novels. The third lady really perfectly interpreted the phrase "You do your makeup and I mix makeup, you burn incense and I pray to the sky, you paint and I grind vermilion, you play the flute and I pluck the bow", and then I can only sigh: "The love a hundred years ago, one word misses a lifetime, the love a hundred years later, every word is ruthless and profound."
Jing Mingtan knows that his fate with Jiang Gubei has been broken in this life, but the things that happened in this life are still so close at hand. If you say you can't forget them, they are all lies. In fact, only by personal experience can you know that these memories cannot be forgotten at all.
