About This Novel

This is a collection of reportage that eulogizes the fighting style of contemporary youth in my country. The content is divided into three groups. The long reportage "Silent Song" and its sequel "Let Flowers Spread All Over the Motherland" are the first group, describing the outstanding Communist Party member Fan Xiongxiong's struggle against unhealthy tendencies within the party, as well as her life experiences with her young female companions during her lifetime. This set of works also includes Fan Xiongxiong's posthumous works "Final Note" and "A Corner of Social Reality", thus showing Xiong Xiong's pure and strong inner world more truly and deeply. The second group is works that reflect the self-defense counterattack on the Sino-Vietnamese border. The author captured touching stories, poured deep emotions into them, and created the cutest people of the new generation. The third group, "Battle Hymn of Happy Island", praises the magnificent sentiments of the island warriors for their hard work and defense of the sea.
