About This Novel
The novel is composed of 12 stories: a city with withered leaves, a city with fallen flowers, a city with dreams, a city with hurtful ghosts, a city with paper emptiness, a city with fluffy fluff, a city with candles and phantoms, a city with deserted sand, a city with clear water, a city with a lonely song, a city of ideals, and a city of hope. The protagonist of the novel, Meng Fu, was born into a family where the prime minister was hereditary. He would later inherit his father's legacy and become a prime minister. His father was a militarist who planned to launch an aggressive war against China in order to make his country the world's top power. But Meng Fu is a simple and kind-hearted person, and he is also war-weary. He does not want to inherit the hereditary title of prime minister in his family, and he does not want his country to go to war with neighboring countries. His dream is to become a writer and touch people with beautiful stories. He often enters some fantasy worlds and experiences joys and sorrows one after another in those imaginative worlds.
