Fear of Death
by Robin Coker
About This Novel
The sudden appearance of foreign proteins on the morning of Wednesday, October 11, was the molecular equivalent of the Black Death. This is a death sentence that cannot be mitigated. Cedric Harling knew nothing of the details of what was going on inside his body. In sharp contrast to his consciousness, every cell in his body knew clearly what kind of disaster awaited them. This new protein is spreading into them with an inexorable force, and the effect of a small amount of enzyme is completely insignificant to these menacing newcomers. This new protein causes the death hormone gene to appear in Cedric's subbrain glands. Once this fatal gene appears, its consequences are inevitable. Death hormones begin to join together in large amounts, enter the bloodstream, and are carried throughout the body from the bloodstream.
