The advanced civilizations described by the author are relatively "cold" and generally ignore people on earth, such as this Rama. A civilization that treats the sun as a gas station is quite advanced when you look at the utilization rate.

Hard science fiction, a must-read for science fiction fans! About the author: Archur C. Clarke (1917-2008) The British science fiction writer is known as the King of Science Fiction. Together with Asimov and Heinlein, he is also known as the "Three Giants of Science Fiction in the 20th Century". He created more than 100 works in his lifetime, which were translated into more than 40 languages. The total sales volume of his works exceeded 100 million copies, and he won many top science fiction awards such as Hugo Award, Nebula Award, and Locus Award. In 1986, Clark received the Master Award, a lifetime achievement award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Clark served in the Royal Air Force as a radar technician before retiring with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics. At the same time, he is also known as a great space prophet. Many of his predictions about space technology have become reality. He once predicted cutting-edge technologies such as human cold brain memory backup, earth communication satellites, and earthquake prevention and prediction. The geostationary orbit was named "Clarke Orbit" because of him. Most of Clark's works belong to "hard science fiction", known for their detailed and accurate descriptions of science and technology, and their use of philosophical thinking to explore humanity's place in the universe and the limits of what humans and human technology can achieve. "Childhood's End" was ranked third among "Timeless Classics" by Locus magazine. In the book, Clark boldly speculates on the true identity of aliens and the possibility of biological evolution.
