About This Novel

The whole book takes history as its backbone, characters and events as its latitude, and the "marriage between two generations" of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty, Zhu Gui'er, Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty, and Yang Yuhuan as the general framework. From the beginning of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty when he launched an army to attack Chen, to the death of Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty in Sichuan, it records the history of the Sui and Tang Dynasties for more than 170 years. Its main content consists of three parts: the first is the palace story of the late Sui Dynasty with Emperor Yang and Zhu Gui'er as the central characters; the second is the story of the "heroes of troubled times" such as Qin Qiong, Shan Xiongxin, and Cheng Yaojin who rebelled against the Sui Dynasty; the third is the palace story of the Tang Dynasty before and after the "Anshi Rebellion" with Emperor Ming of Tang and Concubine Yang as the central characters.

Qin Shubao Jiu battles Wei Wentong

Not far from Tongguan that day, Qin Shubao heard the sound of horse hooves galloping behind him. When he looked back, he saw a general coming on horseback. The general was so powerful: He was born with a red face and beautiful beard, phoenix-eyed eyebrows, a white scarf on his head, a big red hairpin on his forehead, and a square of blue field jade. He was wearing fine steel chainmail, a heart-protecting mirror on his chest, a plain white war robe, a barbaric lion swallowing belt around his waist, a pair of Buyun combat shoes, stepped out of the BMW Purple Electric Spraying Cloud Beast, and held a crescent-moon sword. The coming general is Wei Wentong, the commander-in-chief of Tongguan. Wei Wentong is known as "Master Saiguan" because he looks exactly like Guan Yunchang. Qin Shubao secretly screamed, holding the gun in his hand, but said with a smile on his face: "What is Commander Wei doing here?" Wei Wentong's brows showed a murderous look, and there was a trace of his unique sneer in the corner of his mouth: "What a good robber, your identity has been discovered by this commander, and you are still not getting off your horse and being bound!" Qin Shubao laughed and said: "Commander Wei, I am going to see my brothers without a meeting gift, so I will take your head as a reward." He thrust the gun. Wei Wentong waved his sword to block the shooting, and struck the sword repeatedly. Qin Shubao couldn't resist, so he returned to his horse and ran away. Wei Wentong urged his horse to catch up. When Qin Shubao waited for Wei Wentong to arrive, he held the gun in his left hand and secretly took out the golden mace in his right hand, hoping to use the "killer mace" passed down from his ancestors. When Wei Wentong caught up with him, Qin Shubao turned around and shot him. While Wei Wentong was parrying, he hit him on the head with a mace in his right hand. The generals of the Qin family used this method to smash the heads of countless heroes back then. Unexpectedly, Wei Wentong's swordsmanship was surprisingly exquisite. He swung the sword and the mace with ease. Qin Shubao felt a cold wind in front of his face, and a corner of the lotus-leaf Fan Yangli on his head had been cut off. Qin Shubao was so frightened that he broke into a cold sweat, hit his horse and fled, with Wei Wentong in hot pursuit. Qin Shubao was at his wits' end at this moment, and his foot strength was not as strong as the purple lightning beast that spewed clouds as Wei Wentong stepped down. Seeing Wei Wentong slowly drive away again, he was panicking when suddenly a general came out from behind. The general was wearing bronze armor and slanting purple robes. Shu Bao saw that it was Shan Xiongxin. Yueyue was relieved and stopped to watch, taking a breath and resting for a while. Unexpectedly, Shan Xiongxin could not defeat Wei Wentong, so he returned to his horse and left. Wei Wentong ignored him and continued to chase Qin Shubao. Seeing six generals in front blocking the way, Xu Maogong sent Qi Guoyuan, Xie Yingdeng, Liu Zhouchen, Jia Runfu, Li Bao, You Junda, and Lu Mingyue to meet Qin Shubao. Wei Wentong slashed several times in a row, whipping up gusts of cold wind, and killed the six generals, who were frightened and did not dare to step forward. Wei Wentong ignored them and just chased Qin Shubao. Qin Shubao had already fled to the Shilong River. Seeing that the water was very shallow, he decided to cross the river. Unexpectedly, he and his horse were trapped in the mud. Wei Wentong arrived shortly afterwards and cut with his knife. A man on the other side of the river shouted: "Red-faced thief, watch me shoot you in your left hand!" An arrow flew and hit Wei Wentong's left hand. Wei Wentong was shocked. Looking to the other side, the man drew his bow again and said, "Watch me shoot your right hand!" Sure enough, another arrow hit his right hand. The man said again: "Why don't you leave? Watch me shoot you in the throat!" Wei Wentong was shocked and turned back on his horse. This was the first time Wei Wentong was defeated since he became general. Without thinking too much, he tore off a piece of his white robe, covered the wound, put away the two arrows, and returned to Tongguan. The one who shot Wei Wentong was Wang Bodang, who was also sent by Xu Maogong. After Qin Shubao was rescued, he asked: "Brother Wang usually kills people with his bow, why didn't he shoot Wei Wentong to death today?" Wang Bodang said with a smile: "In the past, those who shot were all unknown people. The general is not as famous as my younger brother, so Wei Wentong will be famous all over the world, but if he is shot to death today, only you and I will know. If we leave him alive for a while and let him go away with the arrow, my younger brother's name will be spread." Later generations will call this the Nine Battles of Wei Wentong.

The general is endowed with natural beauty, and his righteousness and bravery are the best in the past and present. A horse can travel across hundreds of battlefields, and a single sword can defeat thousands of enemies. Although he is a grateful person, he actually misses returning guests. Living among Jingwu, Pei returned to his hometown. Facing the ancestral hall from the feast, wine is sprinkled and the sky becomes blue at dusk. Don't say anything again when you go, leaving behind you with sorrow.

It doesn't matter, there are too many trivial matters within the palace. The internal affairs of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty and the palace of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty are too complicated.

There are fifty chapters of "Indifferent Palace Affairs". It's too boring. There are too few written about the heroic and wise kings in the late Sui and early Tang Dynasty. By the time of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, most of the characters were unknown. I couldn't even remember who was who. It was boring. The author bored the reader to death even if he bothered to read it. It's really not a good book.
