About This Novel
The young boy came to the capital Baghdad. College life had just begun, but artillery fire from the US military suddenly came. He was forced to leave the once prosperous city and the girl he fell in love with at first sight, and return to a poor village deep in the desert. However, the war is hot on his heels, and the U. S. Military raids this simple village late at night. In order to hunt down the terrorists, he kills and humiliates his father in front of his panicked family. When dignity was scattered everywhere, the young man left his hometown alone and went to Baghdad to seek ultimate revenge. In the novel, Yasmina Khadeha restores the dramatically changing Iraqi society in a passionate and compassionate tone, and uses the protagonist's experience to show that even in a harsh environment, the beauty of human nature can still defeat racism, and what dominates the world will not be hatred, but love and hope.
