In the summer of 1965, when I received the admission notice from Datong Middle School to attend high school, my seventh uncle also received the notice. He graduated from Datong Coal School and was assigned to a school for children of coal mine workers in the central Jinzhong area called Fujiatan Coal Mine Workers' School to work as a teacher. After breakfast the next day after my uncle left, I packed my notice and had to report to Datong Middle School. My mother asked my cousin to follow me to the school.
