Abandoned Cat: When I Talk About My Father
by G
About This Novel
"One summer afternoon, my father and I went to the beach to abandon a cat." "It is the endless accumulation of these little things that made me grow into what I am today." The story begins with the cat and ends with the cat. The little things in life connect the past events of the Murakami family and his personal growth experience. Murakami writes calmly about his father's entire life, converting the long estrangement, breakup, and reconciliation between himself and his father into visible words, and shows readers without hesitation that the shakes and fears his father experienced in his life have now become Murakami's confusion and uneasiness about the world. Murakami also wrote about real history, reflecting on wars, criticizing evil deeds, thinking about the opposition between individuals and collectives, and looking for the connection between a single life and world history. The identity of the meaning of self-existence, the estrangement from the world, and the difficulty of inheriting family history, these root issues of Murakami's literature are all expressed and answered in this book. This is the book of life that Murakami spent most of his life planning and finally wrote.

Every time "I" in the article talks about my father, I have endless things to say, but all of this is slowly changing as "I" grows up, and my father also slowly changes with age. Everything is changing, but the heart of father's love has never changed.
It is said that dogs are people's loyal companions, but cats are not the same. Just like the father and "I" in the article, there is obviously a place in the family for raising them, but why not abandon them?
Literary youth
When I talk about my father, I am a little vague. Reflecting on my anti-war ideological consciousness, I can see it, but I feel kind-hearted but powerless.
The number of words in each article is a bit short, but it tells a lot about the Sino-Japanese War.
Love rises in the east and falls in the west, romance will last until death.
Father exists in our world the moment each of us is born. It cannot be said that he is always with us, but he is an indispensable part of each of us.
This book is full of details. Abandoning the cat triggers the follow-up, which is endlessly memorable.
War is always cruel, and escaping from death may be the favor of fate, or the tenacity in the heart that allows people to continue living.
