About This Novel
This book collects four science fiction stories written by Xiao Xinghan for Chongqing, including "Red Earth", "Carp Pond", "Huangni Long" and "Longtou Temple". "Red Earth" is set in Chongqing's Red Earth Subway Station. With the outbreak of nuclear war in the future as the background, it tells the story of humans being forced to survive underground and engaging in a thrilling struggle with a tribe of naked mole rats. "Huangnicong" tells the story of the residents of Huangnicong Fortress who sealed off their homes and fought against the Batwing tribe after an epidemic destroyed the world. "Carp Pond" tells the story of a great flood that submerged the whole world many years later, and Chongqing turned into the Yangtze Sea, while the terrestrial people in Liyu Pond struggled to survive on the bottom of the sea in the form of dragons and sharks. "Yongtou Temple" tells the story of how under extremely hot weather, underground fungi and plant roots in Yongtou Temple form a mycorrhizal network and invade the human world.
