After all these years, I still occasionally read it out. Maybe it's because I can relate to Xiang Xiaowu so much? Xiang Xiaowu is really heartbreaking. She has lacked love since she was a child. She has an ordinary appearance and a not gentle personality. When she loves someone, she dare not say it out loud, and when someone loves her, she is not sure... Sometimes she can see her own shadow in her body. She is not the kind of heroine in cool novels that everyone likes to read now. She has always been a coward, always bullied, letting her friends stand up for her, very low self-esteem, emotionally hesitant, and not brave once at the end... But this is indeed the life of some people, real and cruel. We like to watch the heroine fight monsters and upgrade to slap everyone in the face, but it is still difficult for most people to escape from their current life. Because of their personality and experience, growing up is not that easy. So I can understand Xiang Xiaowu, and sometimes I even feel that our souls are connected, so I feel sorry for her even more. I like Sheng Siwei very much. At first, I thought Xiang Xiaowu would end up with Sheng Siwei until the end. (The death of Sheng Siwei later was indeed a bit bloody). He is a pity character in my heart. He is so affectionate, so dedicated, and so sunny. Alas... Reading this novel now, I can understand Gu Nanxiang better, but he did hurt Xiang Xiaowu because of Bi Lian Shu. Maybe he had no choice but to do it because of his parents. His choice in the end also made me sad. He once told Xiang Xiaowu that he would never leave, but in the end he chose to escape. Xiang Xiaowu may be obsessed with his gentleness because of the lack of father's love, but he is also very cowardly, just like her disappeared father. Xiang Xiaowu is pitiful. Everyone she loves has left her, but she is happy. There are still many people who still love her, such as Xia Wei, such as Xu Nuo, such as her aunt, such as her mother, but they cannot always accompany her, just like her aunt, she will always have her own life. Xiang Xiaowu is a lonely child. She doesn't fight for anything, but she is like a wet kitten. She is pitiful, so she always gets preference. But at the same time, I envy Xiang Xiaowu. She has friends like Xia Wei, and she also has the love of Sheng Siwei and Gu Nanxiang. It's just that sometimes it's more painful to lose after having gained. I have different feelings every time I read this novel, and I have different understandings at each age, so I will read it again every once in a while, and there will always be different surprises. The author's writing style is very good, concise and clear, and very poetic. I especially like the extra part at the end, which is like prose and poetry. There is always a touch of sadness in the simple words, just like Xiang Xiaowu's life. Although Sheng Siwei's death and Gu Nanxiang's departure were too hasty, it still did not prevent it from becoming my favorite novel.
