Children in the Ripples of the Universe
by Xie Yunning
About This Novel
Near future. Corona Technology Corporation collects nearly infinite energy by building a light curtain around the sun, which is mainly used for the construction of cyberspace on Earth. As the time frequency of the global network continues to increase, more and more people are choosing to connect to the virtual space to experience a rich life that is difficult to experience in reality. Ning Tianqiong, the author of online interactive novels, always considered himself an ordinary member of these people. One day, he was brought into the resistance organization by a reader, learned various secrets of the Corona Company, and was told that his novel would play an important role in the resistance movement. At first he refused to participate, but after seeing the prospect of the earth being enveloped in a Dyson sphere and isolated from the universe, he had to make a decision related to the future of mankind. On a larger level, mankind's insatiable grab for energy has had an impact on the universe. A future beyond human understanding is waiting for this nascent civilization.

I bought this because I like the author's short science fiction novels. But I was surprised and disappointed. This novel gave people a very poor impression. Although there are a few ideas, it is indeed very good and reasonable. But the plot of each unit is too independent. If there were not several common characters that serve as the index of the plot, it would be a standard collection of short stories in terms of plot and concept. The relationship between the story units cannot be seen at all, and there is no main idea or feeling that runs through the whole book. Because of the psychological presupposition of a long novel, the reading experience is extremely poor. It feels like a series of short stories with some forced transitions added, and then revised and modified into a long story.
