About This Novel
This book studies medieval epic poems from the perspectives of historical awareness, theme selection, social atmosphere, creative tradition, writing skills, and stylistic interaction. During the research process, we focused on the analysis of the two major themes of medieval epic poems - the scholar theme and the female theme. We deeply analyzed the historical background of the formation of these two themes, and the continuous expansion and evolution of these two themes in their development. At the same time, this book also notices that the development of the theme of historical chanting in medieval times has different interactive relationships with other themes, and focuses on the mutual influence between themes such as narratives of virtue, gifts, nostalgia, frontier fortresses, palace resentments, and historical chanting.
