The online video of a girl desperately clawing at the top of a box sealing her off is the most brutal crime FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen in her life, and perhaps most puzzling is the video's title: "Experiment One." Zoe and her partner, Agent Tyten Gray, race to find the shadowy figure behind the shocking video, but soon another video appears online and another girl dies. At the same time, Zoe still has a murderer in her heart that she is determined to catch. The killer named Rod Glover has been tormenting Zoe's psyche since she was a girl, and his latest attack was a threat posed by a photo of him and Zoe's sister. As Grover shifts from stealth to action, Zoe feels physically and mentally exhausted between family ties and responsibilities. Although Zoe has always known that her job will bring her life and death, she still feels that she will live towards death.
