About This Novel

Even though Ziyuan knew that Wu Juren would die of tuberculosis, she still insisted on guarding him; no matter how deep and strong her love was, she still couldn't stop him when the thirteenth year came. This feeling can be said to be very big, but can be said to be so small that even my daughter can't squeeze it. I couldn't help but burst into tears while watching it. What kind of deep love can support a person through the long years? Thank you Lanziqinghui for bringing you such a stunning work that makes people cry.

Leaving Soul (Past and Present Life Series) - Book Review

I just watched "The Fog Locked in the River", it's all about love in the Republic of China, so I can't help but compare it. Both books have a good grasp of historical events: the characters in the novel are involuntarily integrated into the long river of history, and (Leave the Soul) even borrows historical figures; they both use opera libretto, and (Leave the Soul) is more artistic. However, the knowledge reserves and literary background of the two authors are admirable - a decent love drama of the Republic of China should not be easy to catch. (Mist Lock...)'S emotional expression is more delicate and touching; (Leave the Soul) is better in plot conception. Originally, when choosing novels, I would deliberately avoid things like time travel and rebirth, as they felt like nonsense. But because I have read several good works by Blue Purple and Blue Gray, I am willing to collect and read them. The reading experience is indeed good. First of all, of course, the tone of the novel is very "Republic of China", and the characters feel like that. Secondly, I marvel at the author's imagination. He connected the grandmother and granddaughter from a piece of ancient Chinese jade used for burial, and it didn't feel far-fetched. It's just a pity that the character of Wu Sanshao has some failures: at first, when he listened to the opera in Qiao's house, jumped over the wall, and asked for marriage, he felt that this person had quite a character; but after the wedding ceremony, Wu Sanshao's face became blurred, and he didn't say anything or do anything. It was previously speculated that his untimely death would be related to ancient jade, but it turned out to be a simple incurable disease... After watching the ending, I can only lament how powerless people are in the face of natural forces and the laws of historical development. Moreover, the whereabouts of Cousin Xia and the ending of Zhiwan leave room for imagination, deepening this feeling of "powerlessness"...
