That is A Study in Scarlet, today's translation: A Study in Scarlet. The opening story of this series originally appeared in Beeton's Christmas Annual, November 1887. The translator Lin Shu was a famous translator and writer in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of my country. He is known as the founder of modern Chinese literary circles. With his excellent classical literacy, skillful expression skills and smooth writing style, he formed a unique style, which was deeply loved by Qian Zhongshu, Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren and others, and was rated as better than the original work.
