About This Novel

This is a literary suspense novel. General practitioner Maddie Libery lives with her son Esteban in the seaside town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz in southern France. In the summer of 2010, on his tenth birthday, Esteban went to the beach alone and never came back. Devastated by grief, Maddie finally left Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Ten years later, Maddie finally plucked up the courage to return to her hometown, but met a ten-year-old boy, Tom, on the beach. He had the same face as Esteban, the same hairstyle, and he was wearing the same swimsuit that Esteban was wearing when he disappeared. Tom is like another Esteban. They even have the same birthmark, the same hobbies, and the same fears. The memories of ten years ago came flooding back, and Maddie was once again plunged into a crazy investigation. She moved again, to the Milo area where Tom and her mother lived. She tried her best to get close to Tom's family through her identity as a doctor. Until she finally realizes the fact: Tom is about to celebrate his tenth birthday, and his life is in extreme danger.
