About This Novel

Imagine what your day would be like if you recorded everything you touched throughout the day. From smartphones to soap, from spices to spoons... What if you put them all together? Do they tell a larger narrative? Inspired by this inspiration, Paola Zuccotti traveled around the world and found a diverse group of people of varying ages, cultures, professions and backgrounds. She asked them to record every object they touched within 24 hours. She then placed the objects together and captured them in a single photograph. From a toddler in Tokyo to an old shadow puppet artist in China, from a cleaner in London to a nun in a convent in Madrid, "Everything We Touch" tells readers their stories by presenting the objects they own, consume, need, choose, cherish and cannot leave behind.
