About This Novel
The real poverty does not mean the lack of food, clothing, housing and transportation, but living in a state of being unable to get what you want, being filled with desires, relying on fantasy to persist, only to be defeated by reality again and again. Even the love from father and mother that most people are born with is so longing for but out of reach. From the moment I was born, I was fighting against fate. It has been 35 years, but I still live so weakly. Reminds me of a passage I read before: If the heart has no place to rest, it will wander wherever it goes. Once a girl is raised poor, she will have lifelong consequences.
