About This Novel
"Boys at War" tells the story of four boys born in the late 1970s during their adolescence in the form of a memoir. Wang Haiyang, Zhang Yueyang, Pan Xiaosong and Chen Yawen are junior high school students in provincial key middle schools. The dull and depressing atmosphere in the school left them at a loss. Zhang Yueyang repeatedly led them to engage in various "rebellious" behaviors, and was suppressed by the rigid class teacher and framed by the student cadres in the class. Later, Zhang Yueyang fell in love with Li Mengting, a girl in his class, but was broken up by the class teacher and the student's parents. Zhang decided to run away from home with Li Mengting. At the same time, the money collected in the class was lost, and the teacher suspected that Zhang had stolen it.
