I finished reading Professor Duan's book at 8.32 Pm on September 23, 2022. I knew that Professor Duan Qingbo had passed away at this time, and I wanted to express my thoughts on this book. Professor Duan has contributed a lot of rich content and professional knowledge to this book, from which you can feel Duan's cultural quality and professionalism. In the book, the Qin Shihuang described is very similar to my own inner view. Qin Shihuang is a human being, not a god. From ancient times to the present, there has been no perfect person. Even as great as Qin Shihuang, of course, there will be character flaws. He is aggressive in military affairs, loves great achievements, and everything depends on the superior. Man is complex and three-dimensional. He is an extremely confident emperor. He is skilled in controlling people, has extraordinary intelligence, has a unique vision, is diligent in government affairs, is not greedy for pleasure, etc. People who do not understand refuse to acknowledge the great achievements he has established, and instead magnify the eternal proposition that humans have shortcomings.
