About This Novel

Wang Wei was a famous poet in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Su Shi praised him for "tasting Mojie's poems, and there are paintings in the poems; observing Mojie's paintings, there are poems in the paintings." He was especially successful in landscape poetry, and together with Meng Haoran, he was called "Wang Meng". In his later years, he had no intention of pursuing an official career and dedicated himself to worshiping Buddhism, so later generations called him the "Poetry Buddha". He is the author of "The Collection of Wang Youcheng" and has 400 poems. This "Collected Poems of Wang Wei" is annotated with notes written by Zhao Dian of the Qing Dynasty.
