Private detective Marlowe accidentally encounters a strange drunk who was dumped in the parking lot and takes him home. The drunkard is not old, but he has white hair, a scar on half of his face, and has undergone plastic surgery. Although he is in extreme poverty, he still behaves well-educated. The drunkard's frustrated look touched Marlowe, and from then on, Marlowe and him became friends who occasionally drank quietly together.
