About This Novel

"The Art of War" is the earliest extant military book in China and the earliest military work in the world. It is known as the "Holy Book of Military Science" and emperors of all dynasties regard it as a national treasure. Li Shimin once said, "Looking at all the military books, there is no one like Sun Wu." The author of this book is Wang Shouchang, dean of the Chinese Culture Academy. Mr. Wang Shouchang is currently a professor at Peking University and dean of the Chinese Culture Academy. A famous scholar, a well-known expert in the history of Chinese philosophy, intellectual history and religion. As an early participant and current "head" of the "Chinese Culture Academy", one of the three major groups that influenced the "cultural craze" in the 1980s, he is an advocate and practitioner of "Chinese Studies" education in China's new era.
