About This Novel
In early 1944, on the northern flank of the Soviet-German battlefield, after crushing the German army's attempt to resume the siege and blockade of Leningrad, the Soviet army began to prepare to launch an attack on the enemy in front of them in order to completely lift the German blockade of Leningrad, liberate the Leningrad state, and create conditions for the next step of liberating the Baltic countries. The strategic intention of the Soviet Supreme Command is: the Leningrad Front and the Volkhov Front will launch simultaneous assaults to first crush the German 18th Army; the 2nd Baltic Front will take active actions to contain the basic strength of the German 16th Army and the concentration in the north. The battle reserves of the regimental army group; then, the three front armies launched attacks in the directions of Narva, Pskov and Idrica respectively, defeated the German 16th Army, completely liberated the Leningrad Oblast, and created conditions for the expulsion of the fascist German forces from the Baltic Sea coast.
