About This Novel

On June 6, 1944 (D-Day), the Allied forces launched the Normandy invasion, the largest coordinated attack by air force and naval fleets known to date. Stalin once wrote to Churchill and commented: "This is a feat that has never happened in the entire history of war." The Battle of Normandy brought about a fundamental turning point in the entire strategic situation of World War II. It also largely determined the subsequent relationship between the United States and Europe, and established the overall pattern of the post-World War II world.
