Overview of Chinese Bronze Wares (collection of Chen Mengjia's Works)
by Chen Mengjia
About This Novel
This book is a related work that the author completed in 1947 at the same time as the "Collection of Chinese Bronze Ware Collection in the United States". According to the English manuscript of V1 collected by the Institute of Archeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, it was translated into Chinese by Wang Rui and four others. The translation was reviewed by Zhang Changshou and Wang Shimin. The book is divided into fifteen chapters. Based on the information available at the time, it provides a comprehensive and in-depth discussion of many aspects of the study of Chinese bronzes, such as research methods and brief history, regional distribution and cultural background, bronze terminology and shape classification, shape and decoration, forgery and casting, inscriptions, dating, etc. Some of the chapters are quite exciting. This is a work that has been lost for a long time due to historical reasons in the history of Chinese bronze research and has important academic value.
