About This Novel
Wang Guowei (1877-1927), courtesy name Jing'an, was born in Haining, Zhejiang, and was one of the "Four Great Mentors" of the Tsinghua Institute of Chinese Studies. The earliest outstanding scholar in modern China who tried to evaluate Chinese classical literature based on Western philosophy, aesthetics, and literary theory, and one of the most dazzling masters of Chinese studies in the hearts of Chinese people. The words he writes are as pure as lotus flowers, just as his thoughts are like the branches of tender lotus flowers.
