She went to an island on the eastern edge of India and conducted 16 months of fieldwork in Muslim villages on the island. Ultimately, the narrative focused on nine Muslim women, tracing their trivial and extraordinary daily lives. This is an in-depth and lasting encounter, a gift from one woman to another group of women, and an ethnography dedicated to all women: abandoning all established theories and obscure terminology, truly recording everything seen, heard, and felt in person, and presenting the complex and subtle inner world of the female group. In her conversations with them, we were able to touch upon the truest female friendship. When the differences between old and new ideas and the competition over interests fade away, the most solid thing will always be empathy, understanding and mutual help.
