About This Novel

Columnist Jason Green originally lived an ordinary happy life with his wife Stacey and two-year-old daughter Greta. Until one day in 2015, when Greta was chatting with her grandmother in the park, a red brick from a nearby high-rise building suddenly flew out and hit Greta in the head, causing her to lose consciousness on the spot. Greta died from excessive blood loss and trauma. In October 2016, Jason published an article in memory of his daughter "Children Will Not Live Forever" in the New York Times, writing about the pain of losing a daughter. This article touched countless people, so he wrote a book to record the process of himself and his wife rebuilding their lives and living with grief. He hopes readers will define this book not as a book about loss and pain, but as a book about hope and love.
