Shen Deqian's "Chen Poetry" section tries to include the works of major Chen poets in the Southern Dynasties, and more comprehensively demonstrates the characteristics of the poetic style of this period that tended to be extravagant and gaudy. Although Shen had reservations about this style of judgment, he still regarded it as an important link in the development chain of poetry and believed that it was helpful in understanding the evolution of poetry before the rise of Tang poetry. The poets Xu Ling and Yu Xin can be read carefully. The poetry of the Northern Wei Dynasty mainly embodies simplicity and vigor, loyalty, filial piety, justice, and the collision of grassland culture and Central Plains culture. The "Poetry of Mulan" that readers are familiar with is one of the best works.
