This book is a book on ancient Chinese poetry theory and poetic aesthetics written by Yan Yu. It was written approximately during the Shaoding and Chunyou years of Lizong in the Southern Song Dynasty. Yan Yu was a famous poetry critic in the late Southern Song Dynasty. This book is divided into five chapters: "Poetry Analysis", "Poetry Style", "Poetry Method", "Poetry Criticism" and "Critical Research", combined into one volume. This book has been further improved in terms of systematicity and theory, and has basically changed the characteristics of the early "Poetic Talks": "chatting with a casual mind" after dinner. It is the most famous poetic talk in the entire Song Dynasty and has a profound influence on later generations.
