About This Novel

This book is a compilation of the works of He Zhizhang, a famous poet and calligrapher in the early Tang Dynasty, as well as works related to He Zhizhang, compiled by the editor. He Zhizhang (ca. 659-Ca. 744), Whose courtesy name was Jizhen, called himself Siming Kuangke in his later years, and was a native of Yongxing, Yuezhou (now Xiaoshan, Zhejiang). His poems are famous for their quatrains. In addition to music for worshiping gods and poems based on customs, his landscape and lyrical works are unique in style, fresh and unrestrained. The content of this book includes poems and essays written by He Zhizhang, poems and essays about He Zhizhang's friends and exchanges with him, poems and essays commemorating He Zhizhang in the past dynasties, and relevant historical materials recording He Zhizhang. It is the first "Collection of He Zhizhang" in China, and has great historical significance and academic value for the study of He Zhizhang and related history.
