About This Novel
"Something and Only" is a novel written by Shanghai-based writer Su based on his friend Lin Xiaohua's real experience of raising a child with autism spectrum disorder. The story consists of two parts, fiction and non-fiction, told alternately and inspiring each other, making it deeply touching. Non-fiction (2007-2016) takes the form of Lin Shan's diary "Memoirs of Tranquility House", recording every detail of her upbringing in raising Linton, who has autism spectrum disorder. Fiction (2037) writes that in the not-too-distant future, Linton, who grew up, founded a company and developed a device to help patients with the autism spectrum communicate with the outside world: an electroencephalograph. In the fantasy of science fiction, the possibility of modern brain science and AI technology to intervene and improve the lives of patients with autism spectrum disorder is explored.
