About This Novel
On a cold spring night in 1952, a huge meteorite fell to the earth, destroying much of the east coast of the United States. The ensuing climate catastrophe will devastate the planet. This threat requires mankind to accelerate the pace of space exploration. Elma was both a qualified pilot and an excellent mathematician, which earned her a place in the International Aerospace Federation. But ground work could not satisfy her ambitions and dreams, and she eagerly desired to become an astronaut. In the mid-20th century, people still clung to the old idea that women should not participate in "men's careers." Elma knew that her behavior would inevitably cause controversy, but for the sake of her dream and the pursuit of equality, she relied on her own skills and strength to break the shackles and became the first female astronaut in the possible history structured by this novel.
