About This Novel
The late autumn rain hit the eaves, and thousands of palaces were silent in the autumn rain at night. I collected my umbrella, handed it to the palace attendant behind me, and then walked into the palace. When entering the palace, it was quiet, with only two palace attendants left, and His Majesty was getting up in his clothes and sitting behind dim candles. He often did this, waking up in the middle of the night and sitting alone until dawn. Seeing me coming from outside the palace like this, he noticed something strange: "What happened?" I knelt on the floor tiles and raised my eyes to look at him. Over the years, he had aged very quickly. He was obviously still in his prime, but his temples were already gray.
