This book is compiled from a series of reports "Silent Wails - Unique Incidents in Schools" that Kyodo News Agency sent to newspapers across Japan in 2013. It went through significant additions and deletions when it was written. The book records the process by which journalist Koji Iketani, after more than 10 years of in-depth investigation, joined hands with the "School Sexual Harassment Prevention National Network" (SSHP), a Japanese non-profit organization that specializes in dealing with campus sexual assault incidents, to help victims dare to tell the truth.
